SEDA’s activities focus on five main areas:

Professional Development

SEDA offers a range of professional development opportunities to individuals and institutions; including the Senior Fellowship, Fellowship and Associate Fellowship schemes, courses in supporting and leading educational change and the Professional Development Framework (PDF).

Conferences and Events

SEDA organises and runs two residential conferences each year, a Writing Retreat and occasional one-day events.

SEDA publishes SEDA Papers and SEDA Specials on topical issues, Educational Developments magazine, the journal IETI (Innovations in Education and Teaching International), and the SEDA series of books in collaboration with Routledge.

SEDA’s Scholarship and Research Committee promotes research, scholarship and evaluation in staff and educational development as a means of bringing about understanding of, and further improvements in, our practices.

Membership Services

SEDA members benefit from a range of services, including regular mailings, copies of SEDA publications, eligibility to apply for the SEDA Research and Development Grants as well as discounts on publications.
