IETI – CALL FOR ARTICLES AND REVIEWERS

Posted on: Tuesday 22 December 2015
Innovations in Education and Teaching International (IETI) is SEDA’s journal. It is published six times each year, and each issue is bursting with innovations and thought provoking articles from UK and international authors. We would like to see far more SEDA members contributing to the journal both as authors and reviewers. The journal’s focus is on innovation in university level teaching and learning, as the name suggests, and we also publish some articles on educational development. Please submit articles of up to 5000 words for peer review. For details of how to submit an article, see the Taylor and Francis website. If you are interested in reviewing contact either Celia Popovic (cpopovic@yorku.ca) or Gina Wisker (g.wisker@brighton.ac.uk) as reviewing is both a way of finding out about and contributing to the field, and for some a first step to writing for the journal. We pride ourselves on our developmental and supportive approach so while we cant guarantee your article will be published we can assure you that you will receive support and guidance in the form of peer review comments and suggestions.

EVENTS ON THE AUSTRALIAN SESSIONAL STAFF STANDARDS FRAMEWORK

Posted on: Monday 30 March 2015
The BLASST (Benchmarking Leadership and Advancement of Standards for Sessional Teaching) Project is funded by the Australian Government Office for Learning and Teaching to support and enhance quality teaching by sessional staff in higher education. In acknowledgement of the contribution made by these staff, the BLASST project has established a national Sessional Standards Framework to evaluate and support the learning and teaching, management and administrative policy, procedure, and practices affecting sessional and casual teachers in higher education. SEDA will be holding two events on the BLASST project in Newcastle and London in July this year. Further information about the BLASST events.

SEDA IS SEEKING NOMINATIONS FOR ITS ROLL OF HONOUR

Posted on: Monday 12 January 2015
Each year there is an opportunity to nominate an individual for a place on the SEDA Roll of Honour. Individuals who are nominated for this will have made an exceptional contribution to the work of SEDA or to staff and educational development generally. The individual may have advanced the status or role of the association in its mission, been an advocate for staff and educational development and/or led the development of the scholarly base to support this activity.
If you wish to nominate someone the process is that nominations are submitted to the SEDA Administrator (roz.grimmitt@seda.ac.uk) by 5.00pm on Monday 9th February 2015 and they are then circulated with papers for the February Executive Committee meeting. If the nomination is supported by the Executive Committee then the nomination will be taken to the May AGM for ratification.
Please ensure you read the Roll of Honour nomination process, available at www.seda.ac.uk/roll-of-honour, prior to making a nomination.
