Aim
The conference aims to build upon the
success of previous annual SEDA
conferences by providing an environment
for participants to reflect upon and
share ideas and practices related to
delivering, planning, managing and
researching educational and staff
development, particularly in light of
the Government's 50% participation
target.
Conference
Format
The format of the conference will
comprise keynote addresses, along with a
programme of parallel workshops,
seminars and paper presentations. It
will be opened on Tuesday 19th November
by
Professor Howard Newby (Chief
Executive of HEFCE) and close at
approximately 4.30pm on Wednesday 20th
November.
As in past years, the Monday before the main event will comprise an additional workshop day. This year our focus will be The Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001 (SENDA) - supporting staff in implementing institutional policies.

Should Participate?
The conference will be of interest to
all learning professionals: academic
staff; library, learning centre and ICT
staff; managers of staff and educational
development programmes and strategies.

Venue
This year's conference will be held at a
new venue, The
Jury's Inn Birmingham. It is located
on Broad Street in the heart of the city
centre, close to Symphony
Hall and the canal-side restaurants
and bars of Brindleyplace. Fully
residential delegates will be
accommodated on-site and all bedrooms
have en-suite
facilities.
Birmingham is
well served by the motorway network and
there is on-site parking available at
the hotel. New Street railway station is
a short taxi ride away, with a regular
rail link from Birmingham International
Airport.
