SEDAtalk Series 1 Episode 2: Generative AI – the staff experience
Monday, 4th November, 9.30-10am UK time

Please join us for the second episode of SEDAtalk, Season 1. In this season, we are exploring applications and implications of GenerativeAI (GenAI) as this new technology affects Higher Education now and for the foreseeable future. All sessions are being recorded and you can find the first episode here.

In this second episode, we will explore how teaching staff are using GenAI and what this means for educational development and change. Sue Beckingham and Peter Hartley are your hosts and guest contributors are: Gunter Saunders from the University of Westminster, and Stephen Powell and Rachel Forsyth, the authors of the chapter on ‘GenAI and the implications for authentic assessment’ from the SEDA/Routledge publication Using Generative AI Effectively in Higher Education: Sustainable and Ethical Practices for Learning. Teaching and Assessment. We will also briefly comment on a couple of technical developments which are likely to have important implication for the ways we use GenAI across HE and FE.

The second ‘season’ of SEDAtalk will start in 2025 with a new theme and hosts. If you would like to be involved and/or have suggestions on the main themes that are becoming especially important for educational development and change, please contact Sue or Peter or office@seda.ac.uk.
