Melike is a teacher educator and researcher with over 15 years of experience in higher education. She is a recognized Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and serves as an accreditor for the Staff and Educational Development Association’s Professional Development Framework (SEDA PDF), bringing extensive expertise to her role.
With a foundation in language teacher education, Melike transitioned seamlessly into educational development, where she made a significant impact during a university-wide curriculum restructuring, playing a critical role in course development. Currently, she is a key contributor to the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Higher Education program.
Melike has substantial experience mentoring academics, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, drawing on specialized training in coaching and mentoring to offer personalized guidance. Her research focuses on multilingual education, driven by a deep commitment to addressing linguistic disadvantages and promoting multilingualism as an essential asset in education.
